Jeanette Marie Christakos (nee Strache) passed away after a short illness at the age of 97.
She is survived by her son, Lenny Christakos (Marilyn) of North Charleston SC, grandchildren Melissa Christakos of Norfolk VA, Christine (Dale) Nehring of Orland Park, Craig (Skye) Christakos of San Luis Obispo, CA and Christopher Christakos of Las Vegas, NV: great-grandchild, Cordelia Josephine Christakos of San Luis Obispo CA: surviving brother, Larry (Valerie) Strache and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Joseph Christakos, son, George James Christakos (Rae Jean also deceased), granddaughter, Carrie Lynn Christakos, two sisters, Florence Lilly and Eleanor Fuller, and three brothers, Louis, Herman, and Erich Strache.
She loved her grandchildren and her friends. She loved to bake, spending days making the Christmas cookies she so enjoyed delivering. She was an independent woman, wanting to do everything on her own.
Visitation Saturday, April 15th from 9 a.m. until time of chapel service 11 a.m. at the Kerry Funeral Home, 7020 W. 127th Street, Palos Heights proceeding to Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery.
