  • Mark Dombrowski (Friday, December 11 20 02:08 pm EST)

My brother Eddie was a man of deep faith, love, and gratitude. So many exceptional memories: Ed and Nick taking me and my friends on camping trips, Ed dropping me off at college in the fall of 81', summers working for his landscape company, morning mass at St Alexander, and enjoying his Palos Heights garden home with Mary and many friends. We will miss him so much but take great comfort in the knowledge that the many terrific years we've shared together are not equal to even the first instant of our guaranteed eternal life in Christ.

  • GARY LeCompte (Monday, December 14 20 09:21 am EST)

My cousin Ed and I began to share our faith some 10 years ago. Because of our “families” ties we shared growing up stories and that was always enjoyable. As we both continued to mature in years and in our faith we realized we were more than cousins but have become “brothers” in Christ! I know that he is at peace and that we will see each other again and that brings me that same peace.

  • Kaylan Mitchell (Tuesday, December 08 20 11:55 pm EST)

My most favorite memory of my Uncle Mike: My rock band was opening a show at the Beat Kitchen in Chicago. The show was sold out, but somehow my dad had told him and he had gotten a ticket in time (or bribed the door guy - I’ll never know). The room was packed, we were tuning, the lights dimmed and the show was about to start - and I who did I see making their way up to the front row? Uncle Mike. He stayed in the front row the entire show. It meant the world to me and I was so glad to connect with him there. This was over a decade ago, but the memory made such a lasting impact.

Morgan and Kelly, my thoughts are with you both. I wish you both strength in these tough times. My condolences - Uncle Mike was truly awesome.

    Love you both,
    Kaylan

We loved Mike ! He loved talking about all the things he loved baseball and lots of sports ! He especially loved spending time with Morgan and Kelly! This year he bought a camper and was so proud of it! The three of them went camping a few times and were really enjoying it!! He was one of the nicest people I’ve known and so loved by so many , he will be missed terribly by the whole family!!

  • Mary Mitchell (Thursday, December 10 20 03:37 pm EST)

Mike was a wonderful brother in law. We didn't get to see each other often but he was always fun and full of stories when we did. One of my favorite stories is an old one. He and Dennis were lighting off fireworks in the backyard and the bottle rocket they lit tipped and rocketed right into the shed where all the rest of the fireworks were sitting. Of course they all ignited and were shooting out in all directions. It was a brief but explosive fireworks display. Of course they both were laughing like lunatics. Good times. Good memories. He will be dearly missed. Kelly and Morgan, you are both in our thoughts. Please know we are here for you both.

  • Diane, John & Johnny Damme (Friday, December 11 20 04:26 pm EST)

Our deepest sympathy to Kelly and Morgan. Mike was a kind man, had a great sense of humor and could sure tell a story. He will be missed.

  • Bob West - West & Sons Towing (Friday, December 11 20 05:45 pm EST)

Mike was a huge part of West & Sons Towing – he always went above and beyond what needed to be done. He started with the company in 1988.
He was professional, always had a good attitude, always went out of his way to give our customers the best possible service, no matter what.
He was the ‘go to’ guy for drivers if they needed help – he always had the answers – they nicknamed him “The Wizard”.
He kept in touch with Bob, Sr., after retiring and not at the office on a day to day basis – he would take the time to call him and to ask how he was doing and fill him in on what's going on at the shop.
There are not enough words to describe Mike, he was basically an all around good guy that would do all he could to help someone out.
He will be greatly missed by all.
We would like to express our sincere condolences to Kelly, Morgan and the Mitchell Family.
