A. Raymond Schwaller Devoted and loving husband of Mary Ellen (nee Cawley). Dearly loved father of Mary Beth (Paul) Sanchez, Rosellen (John) Brannigan, Nancy (fiancé Dennis Leuver) and Michael. Adored Papa of Elizabeth (fiancé Nicholas Connolly) & Thomas Sanchez, Michael & Matthew Brannigan. Esteemed brother of Rita Ritchie (the late Robert), Eileen McGrath (the late Thomas), and the late Nicholas. Fond brother-in-law of Ann Jane Pence (the late Edward) Fritsch (Basil), and Richard Cawley (the late Linda) (Peggy). Revered uncle and great uncle to many. 1945 graduate of Leo High School and 1949 graduate of DePaul University. Ray founded Schwaller Insurance Agency on Ascension Day, 1954. As an Independent Agent he worked tirelessly to serve his clients. He counted among his many friends loyal customers, insurance company executives and underwriters, and fellow friendly competitors. He was so passionate about his vocation that he came into the office every day until he was over 87 years old, and remained engaged in the business even thereafter. Ray also served his church and community. He was a Fourth Degree and past Grand Knight of Ridge Council 1703, member of Fr. Perez Knights of Columbus Council 1444 and fifty-five year active member of the Beverly Ridge Lions Club (Melvin Jones Fellowship Award recipient). He was a generous supporter of DePaul University Athletic Foundation, Notre Dame Athletics and Leo Alumni Association. He served on the Board of Trustees at Mother McAuley High School and was a recipient of the Catherine McAuley Leadership Award . In lieu of flowers, donations graciously accepted by the family to be contributed to Ray’s many best-loved charities would be appreciated. Visitation Friday, June 2nd from 3 until 9 p.m. at the Kerry Funeral Home, 7020 W. 127th Street, Palos Heights. Family & Friends will gather Saturday, June 3rd, directly to Saint Alexander Church, 7025 W. 126th Street, Palos Heights. for a Mass of Resurrection, 10 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
