In Loving Memory of Ashley R. Scarpinato
12/04/1996 — 06/25/2025
With heavy hearts and immeasurable sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved daughter, Ashley, who left us far too soon at the age of 28 after a courageous and determined battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. She fought with every ounce of strength, hope, and love—never losing her will to live or her passion for those around her. Her spirit was fierce, her heart immense, and her love, boundless.
Ashley was a radiant soul—loving, kind, and selfless. Even in her most challenging moments, she thought first of others, offering comfort, joy, and laughter to everyone lucky enough to be near her. She had an extraordinary capacity to love, and she loved her family with a ferocity that made everyone feel cherished. Her loyalty to her friends and boyfriend was unwavering, and she made everyone feel seen and valued.
She had a deep connection with nature and animals, often finding peace in the quiet of the outdoors or joy in the companionship of her cat Maddie, her three guinea pigs, and our puppy Oliver. Music made her spirit dance, and she carried that rhythm through life with laughter that was pure magic—contagious, bright, and unforgettable. Her silly jokes, spontaneous dance moves, and warm hugs were gifts that now live on in our memories.
Ashley wore her heart on her sleeve and, though she never fully realized just how deeply beautiful and precious she was, everyone around her did. Her smile could light up a room, and her absence leaves a space that can never be filled.
She is survived by her parents, Julie and Brian Kirk, brother Nick Scarpinato, sister Gabriella Scarpinato, father Andrew Scarpinato, grandmother Judy Wahlen, bonus grandma Carolyn Kirk, bonus mom Amber Cichowicz, bonus siblings Jesse and Destiny Cichowicz, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss her endlessly. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and resilience that will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday 3-8pm at Kerry Funeral Home 7020 W. 127th St. Palos Heights, IL 60463.
