Bernard George Yvon

Bernard George Yvon, Only beloved son of Dr. Bernard and Gail (nee Curry) Yvon. Loving partner of Matt Raftery. Cherished brother of JoAnn Yvon (Nate) Eberle and Renee Yvon (Ralph) Napolitano. Treasured “son-in-law” of Michael and Ginny Raftery. Adored “brother-in-law” of Anne (Leo) Raftery Cassidy, Maureen Raftery, Erin (Scott) Raftery Deluga and Danny Raftery. Adored uncle to his nieces and nephews; dear cousin of many and loved by innumerable friends. Bernie graduated from Old Town High School and Northwestern University, and began an illustrious musical theater career in Chicago, which became and remained his home. Not only did he light up stages all across the country, but more importantly he lit our hearts with perpetual joy and love. Visitation, Funeral and Interment will be private. A personal message from Bernie's Family: We are overwhelmed by the generous outpouring of love and support from all of you who knew and loved Bernie Yvon. A private memorial service has been scheduled for Friday, September 12, 2014. The “Bernie Yvon Memorial Scholarship Fund” is being established to assist students pursuing a career in the Performing Arts. Bernie’s parents are providing $50,000.00 in initial funding as “seed money,” with the hopes that the fund will continue to grow and inspire future generations to follow in Bernie’s footsteps. More information will be forthcoming on how interested donors can contribute to this commemorative fund.
