Douglas A. Miller

May 10, 1959 — March 16, 2023

Douglas A. Miller passed away at the age of 63 years old on March 16, 2023.

He was born on May 10, 1959 to Walter and Jean Miller in Chicago, IL. Doug attended St. Barnabas Grade School, St. Ignatius High School, Boston College, and graduated from IIT Kent College of Law.

Doug was a brilliant and well-respected trial lawyer, with a successful career that spanned more than three decades. He was highly regarded by judges and his peers, both the attorneys he worked with and those who were his adversaries in the courtroom. He was a mentor to many and took his passion for law and teaching to Loyola University Law School where he taught Torts as an adjunct professor for over 20 years.

In 1981, he met the love of his life, Birgitte. He was her beloved husband of over 38 years. Doug will be loved and forever missed by his two daughters, Kristina Miller (Ryan Cook) and Emma (Mike) Clopton. He was a proud brother of Russ (Sally), Wally (June), Ann (Harold) Christie, and Andy (DeAnn) Miller, son-in-law to Poul Møller and Lis Jørgensen, brother-in-law to Morten (Karin) Møller Jørgensen and Lars Møller Jørgensen (Diana Grimberg), and the favorite uncle of many nieces and nephews.

He was the best father, husband, and friend and the funniest person on the planet.
