Edward Murad Boghosian, age 88, of Orland Park, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2023, at his residence surrounded by family.
He was born September 27, 1934, in Chicago, son of the late Mihran and Haiganoush (Minasian) Boghosian. Both of his parents were survivors of the Armenian Genocide of 1915.
Edward is survived by his wife Marilyn Boghosian (nee Lencki), Dr. Michael (Helen) Boghosian, Mindy (Keith Cerniuk) Boghosian, Eric (Lisa) Boghosian; three grandchildren, Matthew, Luke, and Kevin; his sister Sona Diorio; and two nephews, Dominick Diorio and Anthony (Rachel) Diorio. His brother, Kavork, preceded him in death. Edward also leaves other family members and friends who will miss him.
He achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserves. After leaving the army, he was employed as a teacher, counselor, and coached varsity wrestling and football for Parker and Thornton high schools. Edward had a lifelong love of sports. He enjoyed playing softball for many years and was a big fan of the White Sox and Bears.
He was a longtime member of Saints Joachim and Anne Armenian Apostolic Church.
Family and Friends will gather Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Saints Joachim and Anne Armenian Apostolic Church at 12600 S. Ridgeland Avenue in Palos Heights for visitation at 10 am until time of service 11 am. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery in Justice.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Saints Joachim and Anne Armenian Apostolic Church would be appreciated.
