Francis J. Pendergast Jr.

Francis J. Pendergast, Jr.  born August 13, 1931, passed away peacefully at his home on May 8, 2024, at the age of 92.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Barbara Ann (nee Jourdain). Loving father of Francis III (Lisa), David (Toni), Kevin (Anne), & Paul (Geri). Loving grandfather of Brian, Erin, Megan, Christopher, Patrick, Lauren, Kevin, Kelly, & Charles.  Loving great grandfather of eight. Dear brother of Gertrude Lill. Fond uncle and dear friend of many. He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas and his sister Dorothy.

Proud U.S. Navy Veteran Tin Can Sailor of Destroyer USS Robert H. McCard during the Korean War. Participated in Honor Flight Chicago June 8, 2016.  Past President of Visitation Parish Holy Name Society, Past Officer & Manager of Byrnes-Wagner Little League, Past President of St. Rita High School Fathers Club & Quigley South Parents Club, Past Scout Leader of Boy Scout Troop 95 of Queen of the Universe Parish, Past Member of the Order of the Alhambra, and Special Olympics of Chicago Volunteer.

Memorial Visitation Wednesday, May 15th from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kerry Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, 7020 W. 127th Street, Palos Heights.  Funeral Mass Thursday, May 16th, 10 am at St. Alexander Catholic Church in Palos Heights. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date.
