George A. Ryniak

July 17, 1943 — March 29, 2024

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of George A. Ryniak on Friday, March 29, 2024. Born on July 17, 1943, in Chicago, George was the beloved son of Dr. Chester and Jean Rywniak. On July14, 1972, he joined hands in marriage with the love of his life, Cheryl, and together they shared an extraordinary journey for 51 beautiful years. George leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by his three cherished children, Keith, Thad (Nisha), and Beth Ryniak, as well as his adored grandchildren, Dylan, Peyton, and Ashtyn. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Erna Jean Zoberis.

A pillar of his community, George's faith and dedication were evident in every aspect of his life. He was a faithful member of The Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, Palos Park and St. Alexander’s Church, Palos Heights, where his spirit shone brightly. Professionally, George dedicated himself to public service, working for the State of Illinois until 1989, and later owning and operating his American Family insurance agency for over two decades.

Yet, beyond his professional achievements, George's true essence lay in his role as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His commitment to his family knew no bounds, and his impact on their lives is immeasurable. George's love for his community extended beyond his family, as he served as a Trustee for the Village of Chicago for over 25 years. His passion for politics was matched only by his unwavering faith and dedication to his beliefs.

George's vibrant spirit was infectious, and his presence brought joy to all who knew him. A true Chicagoan at heart, he reveled in cheering on his beloved White Sox, sharing countless games with his children and grandchildren. George's quick wit, captivating storytelling, and sharp sense of humor will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

While George cherished his family above all else, he also found joy in his hobbies, including fishing, traveling, and baseball. As we gather to celebrate George's life, let us honor his memory by cherishing the moments we shared and carrying his spirit of love and laughter forward.

Family and friends are invited to gather on May 4th 11am at the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, Palos Park to celebrate George's remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holistic Riding Equestrian Therapy https://www.holisticridingtherapy.org/ , Church of the Transfiguration Get Involved (transfigpalos.org) or St Alexanders Catholic Church https://stalexanderpalos.org/donate/  honoring George's compassionate and giving nature.
