Grace Genevieve Henry (Nee Gallagher)

Grace was born in Chicago on September 29, 1928 and peacefully passed away on September 16, 2025. Grace grew up with her family on the South Side of Chicago.

Grace’s journey during her life was full of love for family and a passion for many things including education, world travel, adventure and a commitment to physical activities well into her later years. Her passing will leave a void in the hearts of the many people that her life has touched.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents, John and Genevieve, her siblings, Robert Sr (Shirley), Richard (Joan). Grace was also preceded in death by her children James Henry and Maria Vance.

May they all rest in peace.

Grace is survived by her sister Joan (Late Daniel) Higgins. Grace is also survived by her children Richard, Daniel Jr (Lainey), Edward, and Carol Kamin (Jon LaFontant). Grace will be forever cherished by her grandchildren John, Chelsea (Lock), Nathan, Sarah (Nick), Nicholas, Anna, Matthew, Ryan, Kelsey and Grace.

Grace’s memory will also live on with her great grandchildren Oliver, Hudson, Cooper, Autumn, James, Wyatt and Oliver.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 8 from 5 pm until 8 pm in the Waterview Room at the Marriott Hotel located at 1200 Burr Ridge Parkway, Burr Ridge.
