Joanne J. Benson (Longo)
April 26, 1941 – April 16, 2024

Beloved wife of Kenneth J. Benson. 
Loving mother to Kevin (Karen) Benson and Kelly (Andrew) Tobias.
Proud grandmother to Ashley, Ryan, Cody, Carli and Samuel.
Dear sister to Andrea (Joseph) Thomas and Robert (Mary) Longo. Kind Aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Joanne was the eldest born to Anne Longo (Mazzone) and Joseph Longo.  She was raised in Cicero where she met her husband Kenneth Benson of 62 years and raised their family.  During this time, she went to school to further her education and spent her career as a bookkeeper in education and government positions.  She spent her time as an avid reader, cooking and gardening and devoting time to her family and faith.
Upon the arrival of her grandchildren, she nurtured her love of cooking and gardening and took pride supporting them in their activities and exposing them to arts and culture.   Countless hours were spent at their summer home in Wisconsin sharing in cherished family memories.
After retirement, she was able to travel the world with her husband and experience all the culture, beauty and food as she had read in her books. 

She passed peacefully surrounded by her family and is eternally at rest with the Lord our God.
