John C. Cuthbertson Sr.

John C. Cuthbertson Sr., a dedicated family man from Alsip, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on June 11, 1949, John lived a life marked by devotion to his loved ones and a passion for his hobbies.

John served his country with honor as a Marine. In his personal time, he was an avid fisherman and a meticulous coin collector, pursuits that brought him great joy.

His greatest pride, however, was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Marianne (Arquilla) Cuthbertson. Together, they built a beautiful family, including their two sons, John Jr. (Colleen) and David (Laura). John was a doting grandfather to his three granddaughters, Addyson, Bree, and Ellie, who were the lights of his life.

He will be deeply missed by his sister-in-law, June (Terry) Maddrell; his nieces Jennifer (Mike) Fitzgerald, Jill Maddrell, and April Cuthbertson; his great-nephew Josh and great-niece Gracie Fitzgerald; and his cousin, Rita (Dave) Saunders. John's memory will be treasured by all who knew him for his kind heart and unwavering dedication to his family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either The MDS Foundation or the Aplastic Anemia and MDS International Foundation in John's memory.
