John J. LaRoy

John Joseph “Jack” LaRoy, 96, of Palos Heights & a proud US Navy Veteran, passed peacefully on June 2nd, 2026.

Born September 3rd, 1929 the son of Walter and Mary (nee Hussey) LaRoy.

Beloved husband of the late Joan and the late Doris.

Devoted and Loving father of John Joseph “JJ”, and Mark LaRoy. Dedicated father in law to Cynthia, stepfather to Julie, and cherished grandfather of John (Liz) LaRoy, Valerie (Mike) Gallik, and Lauren (Mike) Eifel. Adoring great grandfather to Vinny, Tommy, Lia, Adeline, Jack, Dominic & Luciana.

Dear brother of the late Mary Catherine “Marikay” (late Jim) Arneberg and kind uncle to Cathy (late Phil) Reynolds and Carol (Tom) Mooney.

Avid lover of baseball and his signature Kangol hats, ‘Papa Jack’/Jack LaRoy leaves behind a legacy in his family who will miss him dearly.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 9th from 9:00-11:00 am at Kerry Funeral Home in Palos Heights. Funeral immediately following at St Alexander Catholic Church at 11:30am. Interment services at Holy Sepulchre.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the healthcare professionals and caregivers who provided compassionate care during Jack’s final years.
