Louise Bugaj, age 87, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023 at Northwestern Palos Community Hospital. Louise was born on March 8, 1936 to the late Mary and Alexander Loziuk. Louise was united in marriage to Matthew Bugaj on June 16, 1956. Louise helped her mother and Aunt Annie run the grocery store back in 1943. After getting married, she stayed home and raised her four beautiful children. When Louise decided to find a job she worked at the Ben Franklin store in Palos Heights for over 30 years wearing many hats until the store closed in 2009.
Louise was a faithful member of Incarnation Parish. She was always doing for others and was always there to lend a helping hand. Louise loved to play cards and go out to lunch with her lady friends. Louise was an amazing baker, she loved to crochet and sewed hooded towels and wash cloths that were incredibly beautiful. She also prided herself in sewing the crib bumpers, headboard, and sheets for all of her children when they were expecting their first child. The workmanship was like no other. Louise loved to bake, and her chocolate chip cookies and her Christmas cookies were the best you could find. She also made the world’s best homemade soups.
Louise adored being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was very proud of her children and grandchildren. Louise is survived by her daughter Marianne (Kevin) Cronin, Sharon (Guy) Goldman, David (Chris) Bugaj, Wayne (Cheryl) Bugaj; grandchildren Calline, Dan (CeCe) Cronin, Cody (Brandi), Dylan Goldman, Forrest, Brock (Brittany), Dalton, Avery Bugaj, Christopher (Amanda) Bustetter, Natasha (Cody) Von Clem, Mystee (Jeremy) Bradford, Jalynn Bugaj, great-grandchildren Tynlee, Olliana, Skyla, Micah, Walker, Rynlee, Mirabell, Corbin, Hannah, Holden, Hyde, and Jason. She is further survived by many dear nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
