Mike passed away after a courageous six-year battle with cancer. He fought with every ounce of his strength and hope, never losing his will to live or beat this challenge.

Mike was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was passionate about his career as a licensed professional mechanical engineer at Primera for nearly 30 years. An avid cyclist and devoted Chicago sports fan, Mike was a Bears season ticket holder and followed his beloved Cubs with passion. As a proud University of Illinois graduate, he bled orange and blue and cherished his Illini roots.

A true food and wine connoisseur, Mike often served as chef for holidays and family gatherings. His love for biking extended beyond leisure; he commuted year-round to his office, braving Chicago’s harsh winters, and even cycled to his cancer treatments downtown Chicago from his home in Uptown -- a testament to his resilience and spirit.

Mike is survived by his parents, Gene and Charlotte; his sisters Michelle Cocagne (Jeff), Celeste Sentman (Jeremy), and Deanna Belczak (Braidy Hart); and ten nieces and nephews: Christine Sentman, Carolyn Cocagne, Claudia Sentman, Jake Sentman, Charlie Cocagne, Chloe Sentman, Gavin Hart, Cameron Cocagne, Beckham Hart, and Camden Hart.
