Mitchell C. Kampert, born on May 6th 1960 in River Forest Illinois, passed away on July 7th 2026, in Merrionette Park Illinois.

Mitch pursued his education at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences. His passion for science and healthcare led him to further his studies at St. Francis Medical Center, where he became a Medical Technologist. Mitchell dedicated much of his career to clinical microbiology before transitioning into the field of health information technology as a Certified Epic EHR Consultant. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mitch found joy in fishing and gardening. He went on frequent fishing trips with his brother and kept an array of plants and flowers in his home in Merrionette Park Illinois.

Mitch is the son of the late Gerald and Marilyn Kampert. He is survived by his children Michelle Kampert, Ryan Kampert, and Tim Kampert. As well as the mother of his children Patti Kampert, his siblings Barb (Jeff) Miller, Jerry (the late Beth) Kampert, Lynn (Don) Zienty, and Jill (Tony) Nitti. He also leaves behind cherished nieces and nephews: Katherine (Will) Miller-Boyd, Michael Miller, Nicolette Moore, Angie Kampert, Samantha (Skyler) Cutler, Ben Zienty, Brad Zienty, Frank Nitti, Joe (Tessa) Nitti, and Sarah Nitti. As well as, many great nieces and nephews, and two great great nephews.

A private funeral will follow on Wednesday, July 29th where he will be brought to his resting place with the Kampert family at Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington Illinois.
