Patricia W. Knoerzer

Patricia “Pat” Knoerzer (nee Wereldsma), longtime resident of Palos Heights, Illinois, passed away peacefully at her home on October 20th, 2024, at the celebrated age of 94.

Pat was the beloved wife of the late Bob Knoerzer. They were devoted to each other for 71 years and loved to dance, sing and travel the world together. She is survived by her children Susan (the late Dean Wharton) Knoerzer, Robert (Mary Louise) Knoerzer, Thomas Knoerzer, and Mary Pat (Daniel) Polk who treasured her dearly. Pat was the cherished Grandma to Robbie (Ann), Charlie (Melanie), Brittany, Sean (Paige), K.C. (Olivia), Natalie, Meg, and Beth and proud Great-grandma to Paul & Rory. Sister of the late Harriet (John) Halleran, Pat is also survived by her brother Pete (Mary Lou) Wereldsma and many adoring nieces and nephews

The daughter of Dutch nationals, Peter H. Wereldsma and Johanna (Hoogervorst), Pat was raised in a close knit multi-cultural, multi-lingual home. She grew up in the Pullman Historical District on Chicago’s South Side. Pat attended St. Willibrord High School and continued her education at Rosary College with a focus on Liberal Arts. As a teenager, she loved spending summers in Michigan City, Indiana, which prompted Pat & Bob to purchase a second “dream” home in nearby New Buffalo, Michigan, where the family enjoyed many years of frolic and fun. In addition to raising a family, Pat was a very successful, award-winning real estate broker, working alongside her husband, Bob, for 30+ years. She was witty, warm & wonderful. Pat was an amazingly talented women who could whip up a Vogue couture dress and decorate a home a la “Architectural Digest” with impeccable style & class. She was a superstar in everything she accomplished and adored by everyone she met.
