Richard J. Ach, 63, of Chicago, passed away unexpectedly on January 20, 2026. He was born in Chicago on June 9, 1962 to Wilma (nee Wunder) and the late Richard E. Ach.

Richard built a life defined by dedication to his family, determination to his education and career and passion for life.

Richard was an avid triathlete, bicyclist and baker and enjoyed live music, discovering a new recipe and spending time with his kids.

Richard earned a degree in Architectural Design from the University of Illinois at Chicago, launching a distinguished career that spanned nearly three decades at Turner Construction.

He is survived by his children, Gabriella and Tristan; his mother; four sisters Angela Gonzalez (Joe), Elena Kanagandram (Kandiah), Heidi Cotter (John) and Cynthia Edwards (Jayson); and sister-in-law Judy Shields (Michael). Richard was a fun-loving uncle to six nieces and nephews, Marie, Matthew, Elyse, Timothy, Maggie and Nickolas.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Laurie (Russell) and father.
