June Masuda (nee Ostrowski) a resident of Plainfield, IL, passed away peacefully on September 25th 2014 with her family by her side. She was born June Holt Ostrowski in Philadelphia, PA on March 14th 1942 and is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 37 years, Allen Masuda, daughter Beth (Bob) Feldman, beloved grandson Seth Takumi Feldman, and brother Joseph S. Ostrowski of Haines City, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents Louise and Joseph S. Ostrowski of Trenton, NJ.

June graduated from Steinert High School in Trenton, NJ and studied Speech at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, OH.

Her career included working as a realty specialist for the New Jersey Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Administration (US DOT) in Rhode Island, Connecticut & Arizona, the Department of Agriculture Research Services in Hyattsville, MD and finally as a management analyst for the US Environmental Protection Agency in Washinton, D.C. She freely shared her knowledge and enjoyed helping others succeed in their careers.

After being stricken severely with rheumatoid arthritis in 1987 and subsequently, becoming wheelchair bound, she reached out to others, especially children, to show them she was a real person and the wheelchair was not defining her. She loved traveling and sightseeing and made it to 49 states except Hawaii... she was a 49'er but a diehard Philadelphia Eagles Fan. June was her best when interacting with others and spreading "sunshine". Though many people wanted to cheer her up when she was in pain, so often, they would leave uplifted by her. Despite all of the curves life threw at her, she never asked "why me" or wished ill upon anyone else. She was a kind person with an amazing heart and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her, would agree. She was one of the most inspirational people they had ever met even though she did not see it of herself. In Life's Journey, June was a joy and God's Blessing to so many others.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, a memorial fund in her name has been arranged at Community Christian Church, 409 Ellis Boulevard, Jefferson City, Missouri, 65101. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 2nd 2014 at the Community Chrisitian Church.

Bernie was not only an amazing performer, he was also a mentor and roll model for my son Nathan when he was in a few shows with him at the marriott when Nathan was just a young kid! He is part of the
reason my son is now pursuing musical theater in college! My thoughts are with his loved ones! So sorry for your loss!

Bernie Yvon was the first person I met in the Chicago acting community. In fact, I rented his home my first year in Chicago when he was on tour with RAGTIME. He also pointed me in the direction of my
first gig in Chicago, AINT MISBEHAVIN', at Drury Lane Evergreen Park. He was very kind and generous towards me and I don't know how I would have made the transition to Chicago without his help.
Sincerest condolences to Matt and all his family and many friends.

Bernie's playful spirit and warm demeanor have stayed with me since our years together on the stage and in the halls at Old Town High School. I only saw him on a few occasions since then, but each

  • Sophia Radlowski (Thursday, September 11 14 02:26 am EDT)

My friend and I are subscribers to Marriott and Bernie was our favorite actor. We'd look at the Playbill as soon as we came in for a new show to see if Bernie was listed in it and would be so happy
if he were. I cannot imagine going to the Marriott now knowing Bernie will never again be on stage. Our experience there will not be the same. We are truly heartbroken over Bernie's passing.

It was my privilege to represent Bernie for many years as one of his agents at Stewart Talent. Whenever he stopped by to see us, a bright light of positive energy entered the room. He was so

  • Sue (Arcouette) Watling (Saturday, September 13 14 01:56 pm EDT)

I was most saddened to read about Bernard in my local (Massachusetts) newspaper. His dad was my teacher many years ago, even before he married and started a family. After the Yvons moved west, I would
occasionally hear about a new child or other events in their lives. I saw Mr. Yvon in person once after
that, and he was so proud of all of his family. It was obvious that they were a loving group. My sympathy goes out to them and to Bernard's partner.

  • Ken & Dori Grenier (Saturday, September 13 14 06:41 pm EDT)

Ken and I never had the pleasure of meeting Bernie, we're close to Renée and her family and it just breaks our heart of this tragic and senseless loss. Our heart felt condolences and loving thoughts
are with you always during this difficult time

  • Doug Torrey (Monday, September 15 14 01:48 pm EDT)

It is with great sadness that I have learned of the loss of Bernard. I was an early student of his dad and although I did not know Bernard, I can tell by these notes he was a very special individual
and will be sadly missed. My condolences to his partner as well as the families and friends

  • Sheila Reaman (Thursday, September 18 14 02:40 pm EDT)

Bernie will always hold a special place in the hearts of the Reaman Family. During his high school years in Old Town he visited our home often and made us laugh always. He enjoyed playing cards and
finding fuzzy foods in the refrigerator. He entertained us with his dancing and singing, and thoughtfully discussed the issues of the day. Bernie stayed in touch throughout the years in his always
kind and friendly manner. Bernie made hearts happy – we are blessed that he touched our lives. We continue to send prayers to the Yvons and Rafertys. So sad. Much too soon.

  • Michelle Kirkpatrick (Saturday, September 20 14 11:22 am EDT)

I met Bernie working as one of the kids in Joseph-Chicago. He was an amazing person and I owe so much to him. I was 16 at the time and trying to figure out what I wanted to do once I was out of
school. He talked to me about his experiences and shared the good bad and ugly about life in the theater. He inspired me to keep going with it, and I did. I have had to drop from working on stage due
to health issues over the years, but I will never forget that he was someone who genuinely cared. He made a difference in my life, just as he has for so many others. He will be missed by so many,
love and light to his whole family. He was taken too soon from this world.

  • Richard Henzel (Sunday, September 21 14 02:32 pm EDT)

I had the joy of working with/watching Bernie Yvon in "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" with the late lamented Guy Adkins and Matt Raftery. A consummate professional, he was intensely
in love with his craft and his cast.

  • Michele L. Agee (Sunday, September 21 14 08:56 pm EDT)

Like many others, my husband and I were shocked by the tragic loss of Bernie and wish to extend our sympathy and prayers to all of you We spoke with Bernie once after a performance - such warmth
& charm. He took us away from this world and its many problems with his each song, each smile, each step. Keeping you in our thoughts.
