Considerate and Caring...

Here at Kerry Funeral Home we have a sense of compassion that comes with our profession, the responsibilities to the families we service and to the communities we live in.

Mike Orrico

Proud Owner & Operator, has been a licensed funeral director & embalmer for over 20 years. Mike models his business after the old saying. "I wouldn't ask anyone to do anything that I wouldn't do myself."  That is very rare in the "owner" role, just ask families who see him at 2 a.m. at their loved one's home at the time of passing, their first response is, "geez I was not expecting the owner to be here."  The same happens during the day when his sleeves have to be roled up and down on his knees cleaning the kitchen floor or outside waving to cars honking at him as he landscapes the funeral home grounds. What you see is what you get with Mike, an honest to goodness man who takes care of the families and their loved ones as if they were his own family.  His expertise in taking the families loved ones into his care is truly a work of art, not his words, the words of the families he services, just check out one of the hundreds of testimonials on our site.  When families call Mike, there is an ease, comfort and confidence he gives them and those impressions continue during the "pre" planning, "at" need coordinating and aftercare guiding he provides in his services.

Kari Orrico

Proud Owner & Accountant, Kari has been in the accounting field for over 20 years. She is not only the funeral home accountant but also the owner of Orrico & Donnelly CPA in Orland Park, IL. Kari gives the funeral home expertise in accounting, budgeting and book keeping.  These "thankless" roles she provides may not be transparent to the everyday operations but are so vital in making the funeral home run like a "well oiled machine".  Kari also knows how it is to role up her sleeves and lend a hand when needed to keep the funeral home looking and smelling sparkling clean.  She also on her "free time" is a weekend warrior decorator, just come into the funeral home and see how warm and inviting her touches have made on the facility we call Kerry Funeral "HOME".

Peter Van Henkelum

Peter, Funeral Director and Embalmer who has been licensed since 1975, is the son and grandson of Funeral Directors. Coming from a long line of Funeral Directors who took pride in their occupation, he was raised with his father and mother who owned funeral homes in Chicago and Palos Heights. His grandmother was the former owner of the Walsh Funeral Home in the Beverly neighborhood of Chicago for many years. Believing in the value of funeral and memorial services to fit the individual at Van Henkelum Funeral Home, Peter prides himself on helping to provide the best possible service for your loved ones and demands a level of excellence in all facets of services provided so as to uphold the standards he learned from his parents and grandparents. In his spare time, Peter enjoys Bowling, Golf and riding his bicycle on the many trails throughout the forest preserves.
